Villages are cradles of civilization. My endeavour to capture the essence of rural Bengal is an effort to make the viewers smell the fresh earth and peek into the lives of those who often remain excluded in the mainstream narratives. Whether it’s a field bustling with autumnal kaash phul or farmers working in their fields, I have tried to portray the nuances that my state is all about. My photographs explore the beauty, hard work and resilience of rural communities to have a deeper understanding of lives that make the backbone of the nation. My rural capture is a celebration and tribute to that part of my nation whose voice is often unheard, whose hard work is never recognized and whose narratives are hardly treated with compassion and respect.
